The desire to renew itself in the spirit of tradition has brought the modern and elegant restaurant and hostel to life. Opened in May 2009, the accommodation consists of four comfortable double rooms. Vincenzo's restaurant is located in the house. The focus here is on Cilentan cuisine. It is a Mediterranean diet, originating in the ancient Cilento. Dr. Ancel Keys, an American nutritionist, was one of the first to describe the beneficial effect of this diet on the organism. Fresh products of the first choice, short storage times, easy preparation, and a lot of passion for the tradition: this is the Cilentan cuisine, that Vincenzo prepares for you every day.

The name of the village goes back to the Byzantines. They had chosen this place as a safe retreat during the Greek-Gothic war. Agropoli means "high city", due to the fact that it is located in the foothills. The town has experienced a very unsettled fate, and has been conquered by various peoples. Among them were the Saracens, who laid siege to the surrounding areas from here. To this day, the historical center and large parts of the former protective wall with the entrance gate are intact. A sixteenth-century castle rests on one of the peaks. To the east of the port rises the coastal tower of San Francesco, next to the remains of the convent of the same name. The antiquarium of the municipality, with its considerable collection, tells the moving history of the village from prehistory to the Middle Ages. Agropoli is situated in the Cilento National Park with its incredibly varied landscape. Flowery mountain regions, steep coastlines, and sandy beaches: something for everyone.

Vincenzo Host

My family has a long tradition in the hospitality industry, since 1890. I am the fourth generation, and see myself responsible to continue our family history in the modern age. I show visitors my country with dedication and passion for our traditions. It’s how I managed to keep some ancient traditions alive to this day. My biggest passion is the Cilentan cuisine, and I’m happy to introduce you to it.
